The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician.

Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.

The Methods of Therapy & Coaching

The Methods of CoachingThe special blend of therapy and coaching allows you to transform with release and freedom in a pro-active and focused way.

Our coaching is a blend of the methods listed below. All therapies are drug-free and completely non-invasive. Whilst they must not be used as a substitute for conventional treatment, they are safe to be used alongside any medication you are taking.

The results are often swift and life-changing.

Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT)

EFT is often described as acupuncture without the needles. Gentle tapping on certain meridian points on the body targets the underlying cause of an issue, realigning the energy in your body and helping to reduce or eliminate the symptoms.

The useful thing about this far-out sounding therapy is that you do not need to believe in it for it to work. However, if you have ever tapped your fingers on a desk when you have been under stress, or if you have ever tapped the side of your head with a pencil while you're thinking about something, have you noticed how these actions are automatic and almost mandatory at the times you feel the need to do them? If so, you've already experienced your body's subtle prompting to realign energy.

EFT has an extremely high success rate and is quickly becoming an indispensible tool for many people, including therapists and doctors. It works on phobias, weight issues, addictions, negativity and many other issues... it has even been used with great success to overcome allergies and control the symptoms of serious illnesses such as diabetes and lupus.

This 7 minute video, issued by Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, provides a great overview. (Opens in a new window)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP can be described as the universal language of the mind, body and spirit. Many enthusiasts talk of NLP as being the "Owner's Manual for the Brain".

Within the context of coaching and therapy, NLP provides an elegant set of tools to examine the basic structure of your emotions and the ways in which the things you do not want are being kept in your life. And of course, how the things that you DO want can be drawn in. It gives you useful ways of doing things and looking at things.

It looks at the language you speak to others and the language you use to yourself in your mind. Body language and Behavioural language too. The way your mind makes associations and actually fuels certain ways of being.

Through understanding the vicious cycle of your issues, NLP provides alternatives that can be used to transform your thinking and break the cycle, allowing you to develop yourself in ways that support the vision of your future in whichever context you want.

Examples include dissolving bad habits, compulsive behaviours, negative "mind-chatter", improving presentation skills and getting a clear career direction together with the steps to take to get there.

NLP is a way of life. There are elements of it that you are most likely using in your life at the moment without knowing that you are. You definitely used it when you were a baby learning to walk. That's how natural NLP is and once you harness it, events, circumstances and emotions become much easier to control and shape.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT techniques focus on the notion that you feel the way that you think in any given context.

Sometimes, the way that you think leads you to attach negative or harmful meanings to events, circumstances and even yourself. When this happens, self-destructive behaviour often follows (such as over-eating, avoiding social situations, never travelling by air, excessive shyness, uncontrollable mood-swings etc).

CBT helps you to break down the way you are feeling into its component parts. For example, if you feel you are unloveable, CBT helps you uncover the beliefs that cause the actual sensations of "unloveableness" in your mind and body. Then alternative behaviours are introduced to challenge, overcome and release these beliefs.

This results in the development of new beliefs and ways of being and thinking that support your well-being.

Exploring Timelines

Exloring Timelines is adapted from the Timeline Therapy™ work of Tad James and also integrates techniques from NLP.

Everybody has their own sense of time. It's one of the fundamental building blocks for day-to-day living and amongst other things, it influences thought processes with regards to organisation and prioritising.

For example, it is impossible to make a "to-do" list at work and put the items in order of importance without having a sense of time as it is time that gives the urgency. It is very possible however, to lose sense of time and skip items from your list and give yourself a sense of panic later on in the day. A sense of panic that, over time, can turn into a slippery slope of guilt, failure and poor self-esteem.

In coaching and therapy, timelines are used in a number of ways to determine how your representation of time impacts the problems you are having. One way includes exploring the timeline to determine when problems first started and how your sense of "past", "present" and "future" is keeping that problem going.

Subtle shifts in your representation of time literally enable you to see and do things differently.

Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation is a form of focused relaxation where you gain the ability to let go of the problems and issues facing you and instead, concentrate your mind on a different aspect that helps you to overcome the problem.

In coaching and therapy, Guided Meditation is used as a technique by itself in assiting with certain conditions and with helping to get through subconscious resistance.

It is also sometimes used as a relaxation aid at the beginning and/or end of a session.

It has remarkable daily applications (anger-management, nervousness, relaxation in the middle of a hectic day, controlling blood pressure etc) and where appropriate, you are taught the techniques yourself to use whenever you want to.
