Am I booking coaching or therapy sessions?
The Personal Peak Performance Coaching I deliver involves a combination of coaching and therapy. I take a practical and active approach to your well-being and have discovered that clients often need the therapy aspects to remove obstacles and ingrained beliefs which have trapped them in an unhelpful cycle. This allows the coaching aspects to be learned more easily, helping you to move forward with freedom and confidence.
I am experienced in a number of Rapid Change Therapies that make your goals and outcomes easier for you to reach. I use Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Timeline Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Hypnoanalysis, Guided Meditation and Cognitive & Behavioural therapy to assist you in defining values, breaking down limiting beliefs, understanding your true motivations and thereby helping you to learn new behaviours and new ways of being at a very deep level.
The sessions can be emotionally charged but the changes are often swift and many people report benefits from the very first session. They take place at the neurological level and this means that the benefits often cascade into other areas of your life. It is for this reason that I take a holistic approach to your personal development.
I have been to a psychiatrist and had counselling in the past. It didn't work. How are you different?
I have a number of clients who have come to me after exactly this experience. Some have been seeing a psychiatrist or counsellor for years with minimal success. Where this happens, it is often because the type of therapy they were offered did not address the issue they wanted to resolve in a way that worked for them.
The main difference in my approach is that I focus on the roots of your issues and target specifically the areas that are causing you a problem. It is normal for clients to report a benefit from their very first session.
The therapy I offer is more engaging than traditional therapies such as counselling and psychiatry. As well as helping you overcome past trauma and areas of stress and confusion, I encourage and coach you in achieving the things you want, whether this be better health, less anger and stress, more fulfilling relationships, stronger communication skills or anything else. I am trained in a number of different therapies and I often use a combination of these in your treatment programme.
What I offer you is the opportunity and the mental space to allow your inner abilities and confidence to come out and carry you forward into a life that is fulfilling. This does mean resolving past hurts and trauma, but it also means focusing on your future and coaching you to achieve the things you want. This includes addressing things like nervousness at making decisions and commitment issues relating to your own future as well as people. You gain the confidence and freedom to push through the things that have been holding you back. This can be a huge leap and often it is subconscious fears and limiting beliefs about your place in the world that can keep you stuck in a pattern of self-sabotage. I understand this fear well and am experienced in helping you with it.
If you are in this position, the best way to find out for yourself if you think I am able to help you is to book a no-obligation free session with me by telephone or in person. This way you can discuss your needs and decide if my approach is one that you feel would help you.
I am on medication for depression. Can you cure me?
If you are on medication, it is strongly urged that you continue with your medication under the care of your doctor. I am not a doctor and therefore not in a position to give medical advice.
It's useful to remember that Depression is not a singular illness in itself - it is the result of many different thoughts and experiences that you have had where you have coped and coped and coped until your mind and body no longer "knows" what to do and how to be.
Depression does respond to the therapy I offer in a deeply profound way and it should be possible to break through the factors causing your depression. For depression, I offer a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) - these involve no medication and are gentle, safe and extremely powerful, potent therapies.
The therapy & coaching sessions are perfectly safe to be held in conjunction with your medication. I approach your depression (and all issues) from a cognitive/behavioural viewpoint. By understanding and recognising the nature and the cause of the depression as you experience it, we work together to eliminate it by giving you the tools and resources you need.
I am strongly motivated to reduce reliance on drugs and will work alongside you and your doctor to achieve this.
I am looking for a personal fitness trainer. Can you help me with my personal fitness?
I focus on the emotional and mental side of personal fitness and I can help you with your personal fitness goals by helping you to focus on what you want to achieve and strengthening your mind-set with techniques that will enable you to succeed.
My experience is with helping people to improve their sports performance and in assisting with breaking through the blockages that are preventing them from starting their fitness regime or are limiting them from achieving the next level.
Fitness coaching is an area where results are often swift. The free initial consultation would be a good way for you to find out more about the techniques and see if they are right for you.
I am interested in weight-loss. As a coach are you going to monitor my exercise and diet and tell me what to do?
No, I am not that kind of coach, although I will be looking at your eating habits and lifestyle.
98% of people who lose weight from dieting, put the weight back on. It's the well-known "yo-yo" effect that makes dieting so unrewarding, mentally painful and unsuccessful for so many people. If you have an ongoing weight issue (underweight or overweight), you will already know that food is not the real cause. Your eating patterns and the choices you make are a symptom of something else going on in your mind and thoughts.
My job is to help you put dieting behind you once and for all. To help you discover and deal with the underlying factors (cognitive, behavioural & neurological) that are hindering your progress towards your target weight - and then to help you put healthy factors in place that will support your progress instead.
By helping you to tackle root issues, which are almost always emotional, you will be able to make the changes that finally make the pursuit of your ideal weight an achievable goal with lasting results.
Regular sessions are necessary but weight control coaching is an area where the results can happen very naturally and in harmony with you and your lifestyle.

I want to commit to a long-term programme and am thinking about the monthly retainer. But what if I move away from the area?
I offer a cancellation policy that means you can stop the programme by giving the appropriate notice.
If you move away from the area and want to continue your coaching, you may like to take the sessions by telephone. Telephone coaching works successfully for many people and has the benefit of saving you travelling time.
How do I decide if I should book a standalone session or book you on a monthly retainer?
Standalone sessions are most suitable for people who have a specific problem that can be resolved fairly quickly or over a couple of sessions. Phobias and gaining confidence for a pending exam or interview are examples.
A retainer is a cost-effective solution for people who want to be coached over a period of time. Most people who book onto a monthly retainer, do so after having discussed their needs at the Intake Session. The retainer programme is designed around building your motivation and seeing results through regular sessions.
Retainers are most suitable for deeper issues and lifestyle changes. Most clients fall into this category as this offers a stable and consistent development base. An additional benefit of booking a retainer is that it entitles you to free telephone and email support between sessions.
As everyone has different needs, do contact me to discuss your requirements and I can advise you accordingly. Your call is welcome and there is absolutely no obligation or sales pressure!
Can I book an Introductory session and then decide how I want to proceed?
Yes, this is a good way to ensure your questions are answered and you feel comfortable with the therapy & coaching being offered.
What happens after the coaching ends?
After the coaching programme comes to an end, you are invited to contact me with any questions that may arise. As a coach, I am interested in your progress and enjoy receiving your news.
Can I bring my partner or a friend with me?
You are welcome to bring along a companion to the first session if that allows you to feel more comfortable.
I do recommend that you attend the rest of your programme alone as this will allow you to fully explore your issues without having to edit or censor your thoughts and feelings for your companion.
Some issues can and do benefit from a partner being involved in the coaching. I am happy to advise if that would be appropriate in your individual case.
There is no separate waiting area at my premises at the moment so please bear this in mind if you are being accompanied.
I think my partner would really benefit from this but they won't agree to come.
Coaching and therapy works best when someone makes their own conscious decision to attend.
Find out from your partner what their reasons are for not coming...and respect the reasons. A Gift Voucher may be a gentle way to leave the door open for them. For your peace of mind, unwanted Gift Certificates are fully refundable for 30 days from the date of purchase.
Alternatively, if they'd like to speak to me to find out a little more, I'll be happy to answer their questions.
I am not unemployed but I am on a very low income. Can I still be eligible for the free sessions?
Priority for the free sessions is always given to those who meet the eligibility criteria.
We are investigating a method specifically for those on a low income. Please check back later or subscribe to the newsletter to keep informed.
Alternatively, if you have friends who wish to receive the same type of coaching as you do, you may want to enquire about a group rate. Group coaching is not suitable for all conditions however.
I can relate to a lot of the conditions listed. How do I choose which one to treat first?
The all-encompassing and holistic approach that is taken means that we will deal with all of the issues that relate to you. During the Intake session, the dominant issues become clear and it is my role to design a programme that focuses first on those dominant areas, and also incorporates the other issues too.
The coaching does have a cascading effect throughout different areas of your life and you will begin to feel the benefits in a short period of time.
Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
Yes, there are a limited number of evening and weekend slots available. These are popular and therefore it is recommended you book early. Evening and weekend appointments are subject to a supplementary charge.
Rather than spread it out with one session a week, can I book to see you everyday for a week or two?
Yes, some conditions and symptoms certainly respond well to this level of frequency. But with others it can be better to leave a few days between sessions in order to allow integration.
If you do want daily sessions, speak to me about your needs so I can offer an individual recommendation.
I lack confidence and feel negative about myself. How will you get past that and see that I really want to change even if I don't show enthusiasm?
By having contacted me and having attended the first session, I know that you are serious about having the desire to change something in your life. Therefore I trust that you want to make progress even if you show little enthusiasm.
I understand that some moods and behaviours come out even when you don't want them to and one of our first steps will be to examine the areas over which you feel you have no control.
I have a sympathetic and non-judgemental approach to my work and my goal is always to create an environment that inspires trust and openness. I want you to feel free to "be yourself" in the safety of a stable and supportive coaching relationship.
